The design process excites me from the first sketch to the final piece giving me a real sense of achievement. Drawing being one of my strengths is particularly enhanced with the use of print allowing me to explore with colour and texture. Colour plays an important role towards my work whilst texture is explored through the use of layering fabrics and the visualisation of geometric backgrounds.
Birds are fascinating and beautiful creatures which is shown through my patterns, and having always been inspired by Japanese culture, it led me to the geometric shapes found in origami folds. This combination of natural forms with the geometry of origami inspired me to create these interesting patterns that add something different to today’s market, seen in the range of interior products that I have produced.
