My approach is by creating hands on contemporary textile pieces that are suitable for the higher-end interior market. I have developed ideas relating to ‘old versus new’ combining old cultural ideas with new techniques that create a contemporary twist. My motivation comes from Hindu Culture and architectural structure, looking at details from marble temples. I am also interested in the interaction of vibrant colour that is used within the culture and its symbolic meanings.
I am very interested in fabric manipulation and using innovative techniques, as it creates interesting outcomes that add texture and body to my work.
